The participation of the CAM-CCBC in initiatives that promote the exchange of experiences regarding the resolution of disputes through arbitration, mediation or dispute boards is an essential aspect of its action in the dissemination of such practices in Brazil. In addition, its presence in renowned international forums on the subject provides access to information on international trends in dispute resolution.

Four of these events stood out in the first half of 2018. The first was the 21st Annual IBA Arbitration Day, promoted by the International Bar Association (IBA) in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Shortly thereafter, the CAM-CCBC was present at the 24th Congress of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), held in April 2018 in Sydney, Australia, which discussed issues such as public participation in arbitration proceedings, public interest assurance in disputes and good practices that can contribute to the improvement of the proceedings.

In the same month, the CAM-CCBC also participated in the first edition of the Arbitration Forum of the St. Gallen Law and Economics Foundation in Switzerland. And in June, it took part in the discussions on general arbitration conditions, which was one of the panels of the tenth edition of the Latin American Arbitration Conference (CLA), held in Cusco, Peru. In the second half of 2018, the CAM-CCBC will promote in Brazil the fifth edition of the CAM-CCBC’s Pan-American Arbitration CAM-CCBC Congress, considered one of the most important in Latin America. In the event, international experts discuss the main issues linked to today and tomorrow in arbitration.
