Certification for organic products

In June, Moringa Seridó obtained certification from the Organización Internacional Agropecuaria (OIA), of Argentina, for two of its products – powdered moringa leaves and dry moringa leaves – as 100% organic. The entity’s seal also attests that the products comply with the standards established by the National Organic Program (NOP), which is regulated by the United States Department of Agriculture (Usda). Thanks to an agreement with Canada, products that follow these NOP standards obtain equivalence to the Canadian Organic Regime (COR) standard.

The products originate from Moringa oleifera, a plant native from Asia and Africa known for its nutritional and medicinal properties. Studies report that the plant has more than 92 nutrients, several antioxidants and anti-inflammatory substances. In Brazil, moringa adapted to the climate of the Northeast region; in the semiarid region, it finds the best conditions to develop, due to the hot climate and sandy and fertile soils.

Established in São José do Seridó (RN), Moringa Seridó focuses its activities on the use of sustainable cropping systems for the production of organic products, with high levels of nutrients and free chemical residues.
