Comex Study

For one year, the Foreign Trade Commission of the Chamber developed a thorough study of the classification of goods – through Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM) and Harmonized System (HS) – to identify opportunities for the development of trade relations between countries. The result is the publication of the books: Brazilian Opportunities for Canadian Exporters and Canadian Opportunities for Brazilian Exporters, which will be launched at the 1st Brazil-Canada Foreign Trade Meeting to be held by CCBC on March 28, 2018.

Online travel platform Hotel Urbano (Hurb) has just announced its entry into the Canadian market. The company is opening an office in Montreal, with the aim of being closer to local innovation centers and attracting talent in the technology area.

McCain opens first plant in the country

McCain opens first plant in the country

McCain, a food company that produces frozen pre-fried potatoes, this month inaugurated its first production unit in Brazil. It is a 65 thousand m2 factory, installed in Araxá (MG), and with which the Canadian company intends to increase its production by 30%, opening the possibility of also exploring the foreign market. The company has invested US$150 million in the venture.
