Galena, Brazilian chemical-pharmaceutical industry with over 30 years on the market, has just launched, in partnership with South African company Afrigetics, an active Phyto therapeutic (herbal) named PelaPower. The product is obtained from pelargonium sidoides, a medicinal plant native to South Africa, standardized in phytochemicals with recognized antibacterial, antiviral, and expectorant properties.

Among the most important benefits of Galena’s new herbal medicine are the increase of immunity and the activation of several synergic and complementary mechanisms that bring efficacy in the treatment of colds, flu, and lung infections. The search for components that stimulate the immune response, which had already been growing in recent years, was enhanced this year. Data from the website Mercado Livre (Free Market) show, for example, that the category of supplements was among the three most searched in the platform between the months of February and May 2020, with an increase of 59% in sales compared to the same period in 2019.
