Lucalex gives directions to Canada

“What are the best ways to immigrate to Canada as an entrepreneur?”. Marcelo Andrade, Founder and Managing Director at Lucalex, begins his YouTube presentation with this sentence to explain ways available for Brazilians interested in structuring business in Canadian soil. Based in Toronto, Lucalex supports foreign companies intending to expand their business to Canada.

The content was published early this month and shows five possible paths, each one adequate for a specific business strategy. The most common one is available to private individuals wishing to initiate business in Canada. Since July, 2021, it is possible to open a company in the country as a temporary resident, which eases up the process. Another option is to use the Start-Up Program, a government initiative directed to innovative companies.

The Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) are another option: provincial programs seeking to attract business and investments in determined regions or sectors. Intra-Company Transfers (ICT), in turn, are aimed at large companies, usually multinational ones, which already developed a lucrative operation in Brazil and intend to expand their activities to Canada. Finally, the Global Talent Stream (GTS) is the most agile way for visa liberation. However, it applies only to professionals with very specific talents which are highly demanded in Canada.

“There is not necessarily a better way. That depends on the company’s specific situation. The main point is that the business has to make sense and be documented appropriately”, adds Andrade.
