Silver Hub promotes discussion on the silver economy

Silver Hub – a startup accelerator specializing in digital solutions for the senior public – hosted the Inova Silver event at the end of August, where executives and entrepreneurs discussed the longevity market and the innovations needed to cater to the silver economy.

The event brought together prominent figures in the market for two thematic panels: ‘Silver Ocean of Opportunities: Products and Services for the Longevity Market’ and ‘A new look at the contribution of the +50s’, as well as presentations by companies that are part of the Silver Hub ecosystem.

Among the topics addressed by speakers was the relevance of startups involved in healthcare assistance to prevent adverse outcomes, especially for patients who have some kind of comorbidity. It was emphasized that the market is closely scrutinizing solutions that reduce the negative impact on the chain, not only for the patient, but also for the healthcare operator and the service provider.

Engaging with entrepreneurs who have already been through various life and economic cycles was another significant point, indicating that the market needs to listen to its senior representatives.

Inova Silver also presented the Tsunami8 study, conducted in 2022 by Data8 in partnership with Hype50+. The research aimed to gather data on the habits, preferences and needs of consumers aged 50 and over. The study revealed trends and opportunities in the so-called silver ocean, encompassing products, services and experiences tailored to this audience.

Among the main results, the study showed that Brazil, Chile and Uruguay are the most innovative countries in terms of longevity in Latin America, offering solutions that meet the demands of mature consumers. Additionally, the study pointed out that digitalization is a reality among Latin Americans over 45, who use smartphones and other technological tools in their daily lives. Argentinians, Uruguayans and Chileans stand out as the most connected, especially in the 45 to 54 age group.

Cristián Sepúlveda Lazzaro, CEO and co-founder of Silver Hub and the visionary behind Inova Silver, believes that the event was a great opportunity to foster the Latin American market “We created the event to help develop the market, connect companies and

startups. We saw tremendous opportunities here and data that shows the sector’s scalability potential. It’s a great networking opportunity to boost business.”

The event was sponsored by MAPFRE, WTW, Evolua Etanol and 50+ Saúde and had the partnership of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Canada, represented by Pascale Thivierge, consul of Canada’s public policy and diplomacy program, and Paulo de Castro Reis, the entity’s director of Institutional Relations.
