About
The TADS/CAM-CCBC Advanced Course on International Arbitration is a 5-day course that will bring the international experience of the SciencesPo LLM in Transnational Arbitration (TADS) to Brazil.
The course will focus on the role of the arbitrators, complex arbitrations, and the arbitral award, with an in-depth analysis by renowned lecturers.
Fully taught in English, the TADS/CAM-CCBC Advanced Course on International Arbitration is a program designed for candidates with previous experience in Arbitration who seek to immerse themselves in advanced topics taught by leading practitioners from Brazil and Abroad.

Prof. Dyalá Jimenéz
Arbitration Agreement
Dyalá Jiménez is a Costa Rican national and specializes in international dispute resolution. She is an arbitrator in institutional and ad hoc international arbitrations and is a trained mediator for international disputes. Dyalá is based in Costa Rica and works in DJ Arbitraje, which she founded in 2011. She has acted as arbitrator, mainly as presiding arbitrator, in more than 40 arbitrations covering different sectors, including energy, commercial, infrastructure, and investor-State disputes. She is a member of the panel of arbitrators and conciliators for Costa Rica of the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and of the ICC International Court of Arbitration. She also sits on the Governing Board of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) and on the International Council of Arbitration for Sport (ICAS). Dyalá is recognized by Who’s Who Legal and Chambers & Partners. She is the author of numerous publications and has taught in three universities, both in Costa Rica and Chile, where she lived and worked for almost 10 years (2004-2013). Dyalá has served in public office as advisor to the Minister of Finance (2013-2014) and as Minister of Foreign Trade (2018-2020) of Costa Rica. She works mainly in Spanish and English and is also fluent in French and Portuguese.
Prof. Adriana Braghetta
Arbitration and Constitution
PhD from the University of São Paulo Law School, where she obtained her master’s and bachelor’s degrees. She is also a specialist in Economic and Corporate Law at FGV. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), of which she was Vice-President during the 2014-2017 term and a member of the Governing Board from 2012-2023. She is a member of the International Arbitration Committee of the International Law Association (ILA), of which she was director of the Brazilian Branch from 2009-2013. She was President of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr) during the 2009-2013 mandate, of which she is currently a member of the Advisory Board. She is also a member of the CAM-CCBC Deliberative Council and a member of the CMA CIESP/FIESP Thematic Council, among others. Professor at FGV Law on arbitration and international contracts, among other academic activities. In 2013, she was a member of the Commission of Jurists invited by the Federal Senate to review the Brazilian Arbitration Law.
Prof. José Ricardo FerisArbitral Process and Evidence
José Feris is a partner at Squire Patton Boggs, specializing in International Dispute Resolution within the firm’s Paris office. With a focus on commercial and investment arbitration, he adeptly advocates for both private and public entities, in addition to sovereign states. Beyond his role as a legal representative, José frequently serves as an arbitrator in international proceedings. Complementing his professional pursuits, he shares his expertise by teaching international arbitration at SciencesPo in Paris.
Prof. Diego P. Fernández ArroyoArbitration in Latin-America
Is a professor at Sciences Po Law School in Paris. He teaches subjects related to international dispute resolution, arbitration, conflict of laws, comparative law, and global governance, and he is the director of the LLM in Transnational Arbitration & Dispute Settlement and co-director of Global Governance Studies. Professor Fernández Arroyo is a member of the Curatorium of the Hague Academy of International Law, an Associate of the Institut de droit international, a former President of the American Association of Private International Law (ASADIP), and the current Secretary-General of the International Academy of Comparative Law. He has been invited in a number of Universities of Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australia and he has been a Global Professor of NYU. Professor Fernández Arroyo is a member of the Argentinean Delegation before UNCITRAL (Working Group on Arbitration) since 2002. Professor Fernández Arroyo is actively involved in the practice of international arbitration as an independent arbitrator and an expert. He has been appointed Chairman, Sole Arbitrator or member of the tribunal in a number of cases, ad hoc and institutional (ICSID, ICC, Milano Chamber). He is a member of the ICSID panels of arbitrators and conciliators appointed by Argentina.

Prof. Rodrigo Garcia da Fonseca
President of CAM-CCBC and lawyer with more than 30 years of experience in the resolution of business disputes, acting in domestic and international arbitrations as well as in judicial and administrative litigation. Frequently appointed as arbitrator, he is a member of the lists of arbitrators of several Brazilian institutions. Recognized in Brazil and abroad for his professional abilities, he is always up to date with the law, and is deeply involved in institutional activities. Fluent in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.
Prof. Ricardo de Carvalho Aprigliano
Partner in Demarest’s Dispute Resolution practice area, Ricardo de Carvalho Aprigliano is an associate professor (Habilitation in Law), who holds a doctorate and a master’s degree in Procedural Law from USP. He is a coordinator and professor at USP’s postgraduate course in Procedural Law, in collaboration with the AASP, and serves as Vice-President of the Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Canada (CAM-CCBC). Ricardo is a Fellow at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIARB), and has been recognized by international publications such as Who’s Who Legal, Chambers & Partners, and Leaders League.
