International arbitration was one of the hot topics in August at CAM-CCBC. The institution welcomed renowned experts at its headquarters, in events that consolidate the entity as one of the main centers of debate on arbitration proceedings in the country. On 08/14, lawyer and arbitrator Matthieu de Boisessón addressed the application of French law principles in international arbitration, in a conversation with Professor Vera Fradera and Professor Thiago Marinho Nunes.
CAM-CCBC now welcomes international students
CAM-CCBC is building another bridge to strengthen the relationship between Brazilian arbitration and international arbitration. The new initiative is the international internship, dedicated to receiving professionals enrolled in courses abroad. One of the goals of the project is for these attorneys to become familiar with Brazil’s arbitration and to help disseminate best practices abroad.
Which decision would you take if you were the president of CAM-CCBC?
The Arbitration Academy course is held in one of the most famous European cities concerning International Arbitration, bringing together teachers from some of the largest arbitration chambers in the world. Who doesn’t dream of being a student in such a program? Based in Paris, it is almost like a collector’s edition, with classes organized only once a year. In 2019, CAM-CCBC was the first Brazilian Chamber to integrate the course, represented by its president Eleonora Coelho.

Publishing administrative resolutions is one of CAM-CCBC’s most important practices, as each resolution – complementary to the Center’s Arbitration Rules – is the result of intense internal debate and study. In May alone, representatives of the institution went to Portugal, Finland and Paraguay for meetings that strengthened connections with arbitration from several countries, including China, Brazil’s largest trading partner.
