The CAM-CCBC Arbitration Congress ended its sixth edition with a certainty: the event officially entered a new era of technology. For the first time in history, the Congress held an interactive panel. Using the Center’s application, participants answered in real-time to questions about transparency in arbitration, which guided the panel’s debates. The application also allowed the exchange of contacts among the professionals present through a virtual business card.

Events turn the city into a worldwide arbitration hub
São Paulo Arbitration Week (SPAW) is a collaborative platform for events and academic debates that encourages networking and focuses on alternative dispute resolution methods such as arbitration and mediation. For seven days, São Paulo welcomes participants from all over Brazil and around the world, repeating the success of similar weeks organized in several countries, such as France, Australia, and China.

Beyond traditional destinations, roadshows expand borders
Last year Angola was one of the five nations of sub-Saharan Africa with the highest number of cases of international arbitration related to agreements in which one of the parties involved is foreign. Even so, the number is considered low, mainly because the region accounted for only 6% of international arbitration proceedings in the world in 2018.
The only one in the sector with the ISO 9001 certification, CAM-CCBC extends the certification to all its services
Since 2004, CAM-CCBC is the only ISO 9001 certified arbitration center in Brazil. Renewed annually through an audit performed by SGS (the worldwide recognized independent certification body), the certification is a guarantee of the excellence of the institution’s Management System, under which the Center conducts the arbitration proceedings.
